O2 is the merger of two telecom companies - O2 and Telefonica. O2 Telefonica is currently one of the major fixed & mobile phone service providers in Europe. It was in 2006, O2 broadband entered UK market when it acquired the ADSL 2+ broadband provider, BeThere. As a mobile phone service provider, O2 has more than 36 million mobile customers in Europe including UK.

A year later, O2 introduced its own high speed broadband packages in UK. Using the LLU network of Be, O2 offers three packages with unlimited download limit. Despite being a new entrant, O2 succeeded to find a place in the recent list of top five ISPs released by Epitro.

O2 Broadband packages

Compare broadband packages offered by O2 including - O2 Broadband Standard, O2 Broadband Premium and O2 Broadband Ultimate. All the packages come with unlimited download limit and offer various benefits that include free wireless router, free McAfee security and free email addresses. With three licenses offered with McAfee wireless security, you can network three PCs with ease. There is also £5 off from standard price for the existing O2 mobile customers.

O2 Broadband Standard offers 8MB download speed and is suitable for light users.
Price: £7.5 per month, however, line rental is not included.

O2 Broadband Premium offers 16MB downstream speed and is a suitable package for watching streaming videos, downloading huge files etc.
Price: £10 per month.

O2 Broadband Ultimate is an excellent option for heavy users and small businesses. This package offers unbelievable 20MB download speed and 1.3 upload speed.
Price: £15 per month.
