Network operators offer 3GMobile Broadband Services
With the advent of 3G technologies, network operators have extended their efforts to include a wide range of more complex services. They develop their ability in a bid to increase the network power. They generally offer services like a wider area of voice signal and high speed Internet connection, at the rate of 5-10 MB every second.
Meanwhile, 3G services were introduced in the United Kingdom and in Italy during start of 2003. The European Union Council also proposed that by end of 2005, 3G would expand its services to provide access to 80% of the population in Europe.
Large expenses of the added licensing fees, in the interim act as a deterrent to the launch of 3G networks in certain countries. One other factor against it is that it does not employ a radio frequency even as 2G networks do, so that Mobile operators have to further assemble new networks or upgrade equipment for new system. They also have to get new licence on new frequencies.
However, this issue is not prevalent in United States as everything is on the same frequency there. All the relevant issues are soon resolved and more and more people across the world come to depend on 3G technologies.
Cellular mobile telecommunications networks are enhanced to employ 3G technologies. Japan, initially introduced the 3G services nationwide. Korea also started to use 3G nationally in 2004. The complete change, however took place only in 2006.
One of the major causes for the change to 3G network, which happened by around 2003 was the limited space of the 2G. 2G did not include the expected wireless needs of this day, nor does it extend to reach the high speed. It only covers the voice transmission and slow transmission.
Some of the 2.5 technologies offered help us to analyse the applications of wireless technologies, as well as the increased demand for 3G services. 3G technologies have been incorporated to a great number of cell phone users worldwide, by today. The service providers and the users, meanwhile, ponder about certain features of 3G.
The points under discussion includes; the costly fees levied for the 3G service licenses, the various disparity in the terms of the license, the booming debt of the telecommunication companies that makes it hard for them to set up the communication lines as is required for 3G, lack of support to operators facing monetary problems and high price for the 3G phones.
Other aspect to consider is that 2G mobile users do not spend money for the use of 3G services and the service, though launched recently does not cover a large area. Some of the countries also have to splurge huge amount for access to 3G services including the internet.
Finally, the fact to ponder on is that consumers do not require 3G voice and data services in a handheld device. 3G also tend to use up power excessively.
